Readers will learn how to configure the mDNS repeater service on the EdgeRouter.

CLI: Access the Command Line Interface. You can do this using the CLI button in the GUI or by using a program such as PuTTY.

1. Enter configuration mode.

configure

2. Define the interfaces that should participate in the process.

set service mdns repeater interface <interface-id>

3. Commit the changes and save the configuration.

commit ; save 

An example config to enable the service on the eth1 and eth2 interfaces is:

configure
set service mdns repeater interface eth1
set service mdns repeater interface eth2
commit ; save
NOTE: When using VLANs, the VLAN (VIF) interface will need to be defined instead.
