The UFiber WiFi ONU (UF-WIFI) is able to provide both wired and wireless connectivity to connected clients. The ONU supports four GigabitEthernet RJ45 ports for wired connectivity and provides wireless connectivity using the 802.11n standard.

ATTENTION: The UFiber WiFi ONU is supported in the OLT configuration starting from the v3.1.0 OLT firmware release.

The UFiber OLT assigns a bridged mode ONU profile and the wireless SSID configuration options to the UFiber WiFi.

Many different devices can be connected to an ONU to provide connectivity and features for users. See the Getting Started article for more details.

In the example setup above, the UF-WIFI will be used to provide both wired and wireless connectivity to several clients. The OLT will assign a bridged mode ONU Profile and provides the wireless SSID options to the ONU. See the ONU Router Mode article for more information on how to create a router mode ONU profile. Follow the steps below to provision the UFiber WiFi ONU:

GUI: Access the UFiber OLT Web UI.

1. Navigate to the ONU Profiles tab and add a new profile.

ONU Profiles > + Add Profile

Name: Bridge Profile
Admin Password: <secret>

Native VLAN: 4063
NOTE: The VLANs set here must also be included on the SFP+ uplink port.

2. Navigate to the ONU List tab to assign the profile to one of the connected ONUs.

ONU List > Select ONU > Actions > Config

Name: UF-WiFi
Enable:
Checked
Profile: Bridge Profile

3. Define the wireless SSID settings on the OLT.

ONU List > Select ONU > Actions > WiFi

Provision WiFi: Checked
