Assigning the VLANs to the Ports

Now that the VLANs have been added, we can assign the VLANs to the interfaces in order to place hosts in certain VLANs. To do this, we need to change the default Excluded (E) port VLAN setting to Untagged (U).

NOTE: By default, the newly created VLANs will be excluded on all ports.

In this example, the client connected to port 0/5 will be placed in VLAN10, whereas the client connected to port 0/7 is placed in VLAN20.

1. Under port 0/5 and port 0/7, change the default VLAN1 from Untagged (U) to Excluded (E).

2. Under port 0/5, change VLAN10 from Excluded (E) to Untagged (U).

3. Under port 0/7, change VLAN20 from Excluded (E) to Untagged (U).

4. Apply the changes.
