UFiber GPON - ONU Router Mode Port Forwarding

Overview


Readers will learn how to enable Port Forwarding for an ONU in Router Mode.

NOTES & REQUIREMENTS:
Applicable to the latest UFiber firmware on the UFiber OLT on ONU models. The Port Forwading feature is available starting from OLT firmware v1.2.1 and ONU firmware v2.1.1. Please see the Related Articles below for more information.

Configuring a Port Forwarding Rule

The HTTPS traffic with port 10443 from external clients will be forwarded to the web server at 192.168.1.10.


Before configuring Port Forwarding , make sure that the ONU is assigned a Router Mode profile. See the ONU Router Mode article for more details.

GUI: Access the UF-OLT Web UI.

1. Navigate to the ONU List tab and select one of the connected ONUs that is assigned a Router Mode profile.

ONU List > Select ONU > Actions > Config

Name: UF-Nano
Enable:
Checked
Profile: Router Profile

2. If a Router Mode profile is assigned to the ONU, the Port Forwarding section will appear.

3. Add the Port Forwarding rule that translates TCP port 10443 to port 443.

Enable: Checked
WAN Port: 10443
Protocol: TCP
LAN address: 192.168.1.10
LAN port: 443
Comment: webserver 

4. Apply the changes.


To add a Port Forwarding rule using the Ubiquiti Network Management System (UNMS), follow the steps below:

GUI: Access the UNMS Controller Web Portal.

1. Navigate to the Devices  devices.png  and select the UFiber OLT.

2. Navigate to the ONUs  onus.png  and select one of the connected ONUs that is assigned a Router Mode profile.

3. Navigate to the Configuration  configuration.png  settings of the ONU.

ONUs > Select ONU > Configuration > Basic settings

Profile:
Router Profile
Enable:
Checked

4. If a Router Mode profile is assigned to the ONU, the Port Forwarding section will appear.

5. Add the Port Forwarding rule that translates TCP port 10443 to port 443.

Enable: Checked
WAN Port: 10443
Protocol: TCP
LAN address: 192.168.1.10
LAN port: 443
Comment: webserver
