airFiber - Unit Stuck in "Beaconing" Mode

Why is my AF24 unit stuck in "Beaconing" mode?

An AF24 unit which remains in beaconing mode for longer than 5 minutes indicates that the radio is unable to successfully complete the process necessary to initialize a link. The LED diagrams can be reviewed here.

NOTE: This content does not only apply to AF24, follow these instructions for any device stuck in beaconing mode.

First, ensure that the radios are updated to the latest firmware by visiting the downloads section. See if the radios are able to beacon and enter "operational" mode. If not, check the alignment of the antennas. Be patient in aligning the antennas—align only one side of the link at a time, not simultaneously. An installer should be at each end of the link to monitor the RF signal levels and make slight adjustments as necessary. Find more help on alignment in the linked article below.
