In this article, we will briefly describe how to allow UNMS to display Google Maps and how to set up a Google API key.

Getting Started

ATTENTION: Beginning on June 11, 2018, you’ll need to enable billing with a credit card and have a valid API key for all Google projects. Please check Google maps guide for the transition. For a one month, Google will enable the API even if the billing is not set up. After July 16, 2018, it will be mandatory.

Before Google Maps API can be used, you must make sure required APIs are enabled in your Google API console.

To view your list of enabled APIs:

  1. Go to the Google API console.
  2. Select or create your project.
  3. First, go to the Dashboard and click on the 'Enable APIS and Services' button. You will see a list of different APIS. Use the search box to find Maps JavaScript API and enable it.
