This article explains the different settings for Ethernet Carrier Drop (formerly known as Track Radio Link), found in the Wireless tab in the airFiber WebUI in airOS F v4.X. It goes over the three possible modes, the different configurations available as well as a couple of examples of what two different settings would look like in real life.

Ethernet Carrier Drop feature allows the radio to disable the DATA interface for a specified time when the selected condition happens. This option can be configured under the Wireless tab as seen in the image below.
The Carrier Drop Operation mode will depend on the selected Operation mode.
- Disabled means that Ethernet Carrier Drop is disabled, so DATA port won't be turn off regardless of the state of the Wireless link. All other parameters in this section are greyed out because they won't be used.
- Enabled means that Ethernet Carrier Drop is enabled, in this mode Ethernet Carrier tracks the RF link status. DATA port behaviour when no RF Link depends on the select sub-mode " Enable Ethernet if No Session", "Wait for First Session" or "First Session Validation Timer". " Block Data After Pulse" and "Pulse Duration" are greyed out. Works with both In-band Management and Out-band Management.
- Pulse in this mode behaviour will be similar to Enabled, BUT the DATA port will only remain disabled for no longer than Pulse Duration. Ideal for cases where you only have access to the AF radio via the DATA port and you want to access the radio even if there's no Wireless Link
There are several configurable options the user will see the interface. Find each explanation below:
- Pulse Duration: the Maximum time that the DATA port will be disabled after the Pulse is triggered. After this time the Ethernet link will be enabled again and you will be able to access the radio, regardless of the RF link status.
- Block Data After Pulse: If in pulse mode and the pulse duration expires, this controls whether end to end customer data will pass over the link if the capacity threshold numbers are below the configured low thresholds. Even if customer data is blocked, configuration traffic sent to the remote end of the link is still functional (e.g. you can log into the web interface over a link blocked by this feature)
- Enable Ethernet if No Session: If set, this will enable the Ethernet link if there is no session (ignores capacity thresholds with no session)
Wait for First Session: Enables the Ethernet link until the first session is established
First Session Validation Timer: The first session must remain established for at least this period of time before feature operation will begin (e.g. transient sessions will not trigger feature operation if they are shorter than this time)
Tx Capacity Low Threshold: Minimum Tx Capacity trigger to drop carrier - either Tx or Rx crossing below their respective thresholds will drop carrier
Tx Capacity High Threshold: Minimum Tx Capacity trigger to re-enabed carrier - both Tx and Rx must meet these thresholds to enable Ethernet carrier
Rx Capacity Low Threshold: Minimum Rx Capacity trigger to drop carrier - either Tx or Rx crossing below their respective thresholds will drop carrier
Rx Capacity High Threshold: Minimum Tx Capacity trigger to re-enabed carrier - both Tx and Rx must meet these thresholds to enable Ethernet carrier
Low Threshold Timer: Time that any combination of the low thresholds must be held low before triggering a carrier drop
High Threshold Timer: Time that both high thresholds must be held high before enabling the carrier
